onsemi is currently seeking a proactive Material Scientist, X-Ray/Lab Supervisor to lead the workflow and maintenance of the onsite X-Ray facility for silicon carbide (SiC).
This person will establish lab best practices and implement a scheduling process to best serve all internal customers.
The ideal candidate will also provide technical leadership, support, and training to internal and external customers Key Duties and
Responsibilities:
Ensure site procedures and workflows are consistent with corporate practices.
Schedule all lab activities given customer priority.
Ensures lab follows are relevant safety protocols.
Maintains documentation records for all internal samples.
Troubleshoot any issues that arise with X-Ray facility operations.
Establish a relationship with tool vendors to facilitate proper operation of tools.
Assembles reports to document lab status and changes.
Drives process improvements and optimization projects.
Establish reporting procedures that meet the requirements of technology development and production internal customers.
Tracks and reports on operational metrics for areas of improvement and monitoring performance of tests/upgrades.
Prepares periodic reports of performance for upper management.
Construct SOP documents and Work Instructions to implement process improvements.
Lead design and execution of experiments and statistical data analysis.
Project leadership Other tasks as needed or assigned
Qualifications:
Competencies:
Self-motivated and independent Approachability & internal customer focus Integrity Action Oriented Strategic Agility & Planning Communication Skills (both written and presentation).
Strong attention to detail Cross-functional Familiarity with health and safety requirements in an industrial environment Requirements:
Bachelor's degree, Masters or Ph.
D.
preferred, in engineering or a science, with 3
years of industrial/manufacturing experience.
Experience with XRD and Topography Imaging (Synchrotron or Lab Systems).
Experience with Minitab, JMP, Tableau or similar software preferred.
Excellent analytical, organizational, planning and problem-solving/troubleshooting skills.
Comfortable in a fast-paced engineering and manufacturing environment.
Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills, and ability to manage conflict in a stressful environment.
Understands and listens to team members and fosters a productive team environment.
Handles multiple projects and priorities.
Must be able to work independently with limited supervision.
Proficient in advanced techniques with relevant software:
MS Project, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.
in addition to experience working within shared work environments.
5% domestic and international travel.
