A Fab Operator operates metal fabrication equipment such as punch press, shears, rolls, power brakes, and saws to cut, bend, straighten, and form sheet metal stock or parts.
Makes shop aids such as stops, guides, feeding aids, and blocks to facilitate machine operations.
Locates and marks bending or cutting lines and reference points onto workpiece using rule, compass, straightedge, or by tracing from templates.
Performs file and burr operations as required.
May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures.
The Fab Operator will assemble machine parts, such as helicoils, Keenserts, Pins, Studs, Pressnuts, Rivets, which includes Loctite/primer/adhesives.
Mark / Stencil - Bren Stencil cutter - Spray Booth.
Perform touch-up using Alodine 1201/1132.
Perform paperwork closeout before filing as required.
Package and Ship products, using internal systems - Move Ticket - ISTAR.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills High school and vocational school or associates degree and 1-3 years relevant experience.
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
Ability to write simple correspondence and reports.
Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations before customers, clients, or other employees.
Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Knowledge of machinery that will be used to carry out the task such as punch press, shears, rolls, power brakes, and saws, among others.
Thorough knowledge to Machine Shop mathematics.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
Ability to read prints, and diagrams.
Ability to use basic computer skills to navigate through processes, and document tasks including entering labor.
Ability to deal with problems that may arise in certain situations.
Must be able to regularly stand/walk/use hands to handle or feel/reach with hands and arms/climb or balance/stoop/knell/crouch or crawl/and talk or hear.
The employee is occasionally required to sit.
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills Studies specifications such as blueprints, sketches, models, or descriptions and visualizes product to determine materials required and machines to be used to fabricate parts.
Works in shop, and off site as required.
Verifies dimensions, alignments and clearances and monitors quality and makes adjustments to insure satisfactory work.
Performs minor maintenance on shop equipment and tools.
Grinds cutters, drills, end mills and forms tools consistent with the material being machined.
Must possess thorough understanding of principals of mechanics, tolerances, thermal expansion, and calculations of the same for various materials.
Ability to work any assigned shift and overtime as required.
May be assigned tasks outside craft as required.
Demonstrates effective verbal/written and interpersonal communication skills as well as the ability to work in a team environment.
Able and willing to work overtime in order to meet customer's needs.
Pay Information Full-Time Salary Range:
$53020 - $84810 Please note:
This range is based on our market pay structures.
However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to:
business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
