FUNCTIONS / DUTIES / SUPERVISION:
o Serve as a first line functional supervisor for a group of DSP Hardware Engineers in support of a product line, developing their skill and promoting their career growth.
o Demonstrated ability (Engineering Planning & Project Launch, Driving Technical Performance, and Risk & Opportunity Management) to lead large work groups in support of their assigned programs.
o Understands the Hardware Engineering and SW Engineering Processes and acts as the HW/SW process application expert for DSP applications providing the appropriate instantiation of process for the programs under your purview.
o Perform as Independent Assessor during IDR's, Peer Reviews and Failure Review Board meetings.
o Perform DSP and process engineering functions at times on contracted programs, as required.
o Participate in the hiring process and is responsible for developing, mentoring, counseling and evaluating performance of subordinates.
SUPERVISION:
o Responsibilities for the work product of those under your purview, assuring they are applying sound HW processes.
o Identify expense items for department budget. Provide input to proposal cost estimates. Track and meet utilization targets for your DSP Hardware team.
o Responsible for personnel management (PDR Assessments, Promotion Planning, HR issues, etc.)
o Responsible for Career Development Plans of your employees, and providing the tools required for them to perform their tasks.
o Supervision Received: Work is performed without appreciable direction. Regularly exercises discretion and independent judgment in technical areas. Exercises considerable judgment in determining objectives and approaches. Completed work is reviewed from a relatively long-term perspective for desired results.
WORKING RELATIONSHIPS:
o Within Company: Ability to work and integrate with SIGINT Product Realization Group, as well as across PRG's/business areas, as a DSP SIGINT technical leader. Lead the DSP group in algorithm development, performance analysis, implementation evaluation and HW/SW implementations in support of SIGINT domain signal acquisition, collection and explitation. Likewise, ability to work with peers within HW discipline and cross-disciplines.
o Outside of Company: Some contact with customers, contractors and government officials. May act as supplier technical point of contact for hardware item development.
Required Skills and Education
Required education: Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering with Digital Signal Processing concentration
10 or more years SIGINT DSP or related technical and leadership experience
Preferred Skills and Education
Masters Degree in Electronic Engineering with Digital Signal Processing concentration or equivalent
10 years of DSP HW/SW engineering implementation experience in a high-tech DOD environment
SIGINT domain experience
TS SCI clearance
